Adelante - meaning forward or onward in Spanish - embodies the primary mission of this mentored research program. Through Adelante, the
Center for AIDS Research strives to develop early-career investigators who focus on HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention, and care in the Latino/Hispanic community.
Hispanic/Latino populations in the United States currently bear a disproportionate burden of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The goals of the CFAR Adelante program are to decrease HIV-related health disparities in the Hispanic/Latino community and to promote the mentored development of early career investigators who are focusing on HIV/AIDS in these populations.
