The HU CFAR is pleased to congratulate Dr. Ingrid V. Bassett on her selection as an inaugural participant in the Harvard Impact Labs’ Public Service Leave program. This prestigious recognition reflects Dr. Bassett’s exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing research-driven solutions to critical public health challenges.
Dr. Bassett, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Co-Director of the Harvard University Center for AIDS Research (HU CFAR), will lead the design and evaluation of childhood vaccination outreach and communication strategies at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH). This appointment will be at 50% effort over an eight-month period, through April 2026. Her efforts aim to increase childhood vaccination rates, improve public health outcomes, and ensure that state-wide initiatives are informed by evidence-based strategies.
Through this hands-on engagement, Dr. Bassett will bring her extensive experience in public health and implementation science to bear on real-world problems, bridging academic research and state policy. Her participation in Harvard Impact Labs reflects her commitment to translating rigorous research into impactful practice, and advancing collaborative, community-rooted solutions to critical health challenges.
